Howdy folks!! This is just a little single track seeking out on Utah's west desert..... We rode this before the "Rona" got a good foothold... so when I talk about the Rona, it was long before we really knew much about it... sorry for the misguided information.... just trail talkin'.....
7" LED Motorcycle Headlight Mod
Переглядів 9 тис.4 роки тому
Mah Homies..... Here is a brief primer on how to mount and wire up a 7" LED headlight to your dirtbike. This mod is on my 2003 KLX400, which is now big bore'ed and stroked to a 470cc brute.... This headlight is originally made for a jeep, so come 2 to a pack.... A little ingenuity, elbow grease, and time can save you some hard earned money.....

That's awesome Mr D, she is definitely running rich by the sound of it. I use to have a kx420 when I was a young guy, always wanted a 500. But I love my 990
Another "Hey, look at me!" video with absolutely no value. Please stop clogging up UA-cam with this garbage.
I switched the standard R1150GS gearbox for the R1150rt to get the extended sixth gear. Also used k1200lc Crown gears, so now it does 95mph at 4000rpm instead of 80mph standard. Its a bit more hassle pulling away two up so was thinking about sourcing the fiorst gear from a GSA box, but they are hard to find. Also removed the catalytic convertor and put a y pipe in its place and now get 59mpg if I keep t under 70mph, a big improvement.
Thank you for wiggling the exhaust mechanism mine jiggle like that thought it was bad I guess it's normal. My klx 2001 has 50 kit and having problems with it hope I can fix it with your videos I am stoked ok let's unpause ❤
Hi thanks for video do you need a to upgrade the crank on a wr250r if you put the 290 big bore kit and is reliability the same ride safe mate 👍
You do not need to upgrade the crank to do the Athena big bore kit. Yes, it is as reliable as stock with the Athena big bore kit. Even with the stroker crank and Athena big bore kit (309CC), the bike is still dead reliable. The first things to go on these motors is the intake valves at about 29k miles....If people do good upkeep by changing oil and filter regularly, and keep the stock air filter clean and oiled.
@@MrDuhfactor thank you
you need to preheat the case before assembly, other wise bearing could be to tight and would fail again.
i wanted to get a part song
Bro pump the throttle 4 times closed to wide open before you kick it. That's the way I was taught and it works great
You still riding the 1150? I’m trying to get the time to rebuild mine.
I actually sold it a couple years back, it ended up being too uncomfortable for my wife on the back who is really short... lol.... The new owner rode the stew out of it, and apparently was really happy with it......
Спасибо!!! Протянул так - распредвалы стали ходить свободно!
what's with those holes in the plastic cover? what are they used for?
Hi Mr DuhF :) Great video again. I also watched your EveRide entire series as I've recently picked up a 2006 DRZ 400s. How did this shim stack setup work out for you? I'm guessing I'm close to your size and after watching your vids I feel confident in the process, just not the decisions on shims, etc. I'm 5'10" 185. Did adding the four low speed, and adjusting the fast speed shims like you did work well for you? Just figure I'd ask, and hopefully have a good starting point. Many thanks for these videos. jj
Also, that's super cool four generations are at your garage :)
@@row911sc I'm running this same shim stack in my own personal bike, and so far don't feel like I need to change it..... I ride mostly desert, sometimes fast, but it seems to do good on trails too! You can do it, I think you'll like it...
@@MrDuhfactor If you don't mind me asking more, are you using stock springs or did you up the spring rate? Racetech says 0.50 would suit me (180-220). I really appreciate it dude. :) Planning on the Idaho BDR in a month. Probably will do the rear shock oil before I go as well. Maybe rear comp shim stack too :)
Changed cam chain tension for updated one. Seems to work on my bike.
These are the carburatores for me.. she needs new throttle valve repair kit you find it on internet cheaperin UK, after this readjust the throttle sensor, calibrate the throttles with TwinMax or other device after calibrate the gas wire and choke wire. BuT first readjust the valves boath sides. Good luck!!! 👍
Can you do a video on what happens between 1:51 und 1:52? I need to pull the tranny off my GS.
Why would you not apply a bit of grease to the bearing to help it slide in and to prevent rusting ....It's going to be there 50,ooo kms .A little insurance.
Hey DuhFactor... how many summers it been since you last said "This summer I swear.." about the Trident? I will never forget, nor forgive. :P Not that I can talk, I'm not even 40 yet and I'll probably never ride or be able to own an old car again thanks to my back and the amount of pain it causes me.
I go half the speed with twice the heart rate and breathing.
Since my Bike doesn't have a choke....I make up for it with my riding failures
I had hoped you would check valve clearance before you took it apart. You would think that valve clearance would factor total clearance in the cams, buckets, pushrods and rocker to valves. My R1150R has a tick right side but if I twist throttle backwards, it goes away….pulse in fuel line tapping against throttle cable.🧐lots of idiosincrqocies with most anything.
That was all done before going this deep, thanks for mentioning it here, I didnt in the video it appears....
The outro brought back so many memories. 🤘👍❤❤
First, Accidentalbroadcast drops a video, then Mr.Duhfactor steps in! What happy surprise!
Careful.....nobody nobody wants to get ring dingered. 😂
Hey D! great to hear from you!!
I hope a new seat is coming soon lol
Comedy😂
Looks like a blast!
The scent of two stroke is second only to bacon. This bike is from Kawasaki not the Service Honda rebuilds. They had an aluminum frame, right?
Oops pushed send too soon. Listened to the story. Kawasaki.
They had ol' school steel frames my friend ;)
Congrats on that AMAZING deal!! That all looked like fun! Miss you guys!
Hey Damon, awesome to see you throw up a video again. It's been way too long. Makes me wanna get the bike out! Don't have my beta 2 stroke anymore but still have a couple zukis. Hope all is well with you.
You sir are crazy.....kx500 from the 90's? Let us all pray for this man.😂
I'm having a work-out just watching you ride here! Whoo-wee! I guess you just burned through 8 gallons of gasoline and 3 quarts of oil. ;-)
Long time no braaap
Heck yeah 👍🏼
MDF!!! Dude, you have NO idea how much I need this right now! God bless you Brother.
Where did you get the jets kit ? Or part number ?
Been a long time ago my friend..... I cant remember....... If I have access to a dyno, I just tune with stock components. Nowdays we build 470 motors and use 39mm FCR carbs, which I have jetting specs for if you decide to do that someday......
Can you take out the tube to replace the seal without removing the cartridge?
thank you gang i did it 9 years later this video helped me so much
Thanks for the excellent lessons! Hopefully gen 2 klr's stators and regulators are as easy to test.
I have the same bike , but can't connect the ECU to TUNE ECU windows ( Im runing in windows 11) . I have tried like 10 OBD wires ( i have the adaptator 6 to 16) , but no one is working . Is it about the cable ? can you share your OBD reference ?
Here i am… watching in 2024 (;
Hi I was told to never get grease near the sealing lip of the seal, Install dry because they are Teflon, how did you get on after this ?? Thank you.
It never leaked, so far..... I have sold the bike to enjoy other projects, but from what Im told, it keeps humming along with no problems.
Does the smt habe the same plug?
I believe so.....
Just took my 02 650R out for a good spin yesterday and overall running decent but my idle is kinda hit or miss. I can start it in 1-3 kicks consistently kinda stumped on the fine tuning. Hope to see or hear how yours got dialed in! Thanks
I cant remember now, but after cleaning the carb, and adjusting the low speed mixture screw, it ran like a scalded dog......
Thanks! I got. 68 pilot at the moment and I pretty much adjusted the fuel mixture screw almost from 1 to 5 turns out and still had the same behavior from idle. Thanks for the reply by the way!!
thank you
Thanks for posting these build videos. Just installed a 300cc kit and your videos were instrumental in getting the job done correctly.
Great job man!!!
Groove street, home..
Who gives a ___ about left turns?
Good point.... lol
@MrDuhfactor I HATE poser bikes! Stupid to spend 50k on a bike you can't use for a damn thing. A block long raked out chopper can't be used for___. ua-cam.com/video/seYlGc-4l9g/v-deo.htmlsi=9x90EPvB4ebQqjwg
@@markwinchester3005 Us poor folk only have one bike, and have to build them in our garage, so it has to work.... I dont ride fast anymore, but I still love a healthy V-Twin!
Do you still posses the orange BMW or did you sell it?
I sold it to a friend because it was too wide for my wife sitting on the back to tolerate..... She's still rolling around Im told......
Hey @MrDuhfactor hope all is been well with you. 🙂 I was curious if you knew how Kalani owner of "Accidental Broadcast" motovlog channel has been doing? Grew up in my teens watching his stuff, would love to know he's doing well. But glad to see you're doing okay, I'm pretty certain you guys at least knew each other, righto? Edit: Wanted to mention I did also add you on Insta if you're wondering who that random person was who added you, in case you don't see this for some reason.
I havent heard from him in a long while, I hear he's doing ok...
@@MrDuhfactor Oh I saw your reply now. Man he must've quit riding or something, glad to hear though! Thanks and cheers from Pennsylvania. :D
